MARY  R. DANCY ~ Wednesday, December 23, 1992

Mary Frances Rhea Dancy of Stanton, died December 19 in HCA Regional Hospital in Jackson, she had been sick since February. Mrs. Dancy was 78 years old.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday in the Dancyville United Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with the Revs. Jimmy Wiles and Durwood Worley officiating.

Mrs. Dancy was born on June 18, 1914 in Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Alfred Long Rhea. She was the widow of James Hughes Dancy, who died in 1968.

Mrs Dancy was employed as a bookkeeper with the Morris Clinic in Somerville for 27 years prior to her retirement. She was also a pianist for her church.

Mrs. Dancy is survived by a daughter, Mary Kay Smith of Jackson, two sisters, Katherine Webb and Josephine Thomas, both of Jackson; and a grandson, Kenneth Rhea Smith of Jackson

Howard Rhea, Dr. Karl Rhea, Dr. John Bishop, Dr. Bill Wilder, Dr. Frank McKnight, Ken Smith, Tommy Hollis and Jack Smith served as pallbearers. D.C. Crawford, Ralph Utley, David Beard, Joe Moore, Jr., Sammy Tinsley, Joey Moore, David Smith and Freddie Hensley were the honorary pallbearers.

Editors Addendum: Mrs. Dancy was not retired from the Morris Clinic, at the time of her death, and in fact still had the books in her possession at the time of her death.
