OBITUARY

The funeral service for Sue Belle Adams of Paris was conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004, at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Dr. Joseph Geary of First United Methodist Church in Paris officiated. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Chosen as pallbearers were mike Josh, Tim and Jeff Adams and Frank Parker.

Visitation was Saturday and Sunday.

Mrs. Adams, 92, died Friday night, July 30, 2004, at the Plumley Rehabilitation center.

A Paris native, she was born March 8, 1912, a daughter of the late Joe Porter and May Belle Starling Claxton.

She was married on February 7, 1929, to Horace Gus Adams, who died January 31, 1983.

Mrs. Adams was homemaker. At the time of her death, she held the longest membership at the First United Methodist Church in Paris. She was active with United Methodist Women.

She leaves three sons: Billy Joe (Alice) Adams and Dr. Robert (Peggy Sue) Adams, both of Paris, and Dr. Ray (Peggy D.) Adams of Trenton;
One sister: Mildred Caligiuri of Livonia, Michigan;

Seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and special friend: Shirley Adams,

She also was proceeded in death by four brothers: Jerome, Porter, Joe and Waymon Claxton; and four sisters:Marie Spoerry,Hettie Willoughby, Dorothy Starkweather and Evelyn Fiorita.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
